Steve Jones

Steve JonesSince 2007 the WYAM's have sponsored local worthwhile charities and 2010 is no exception. This year our nominated charity is the Steve Jones Charity Trust.

Steve Jones, an Accident & Emergency charge nurse at Bradford Royal Infirmary, died suddenly in 2009 aged just 37. He was rushed in to the department where he worked suffering from chest pains.

Steve, who lived in Guiseley with his wife Julie and two children Sam & Ellen, had suffered a fatal heart problem. Colleagues of Steve said he had dreamt of seeing patient assessment machines in every cubicle of the A&E department where he worked. And so the Steve Jones charity trust was setup.
